It just isn't the same around the old homestead without a layout to put my structures on so I decided, rather abruptly, to build a small layout.  It's nice to be able to run a train around adding some action instead of just static models on a display base.  I chose this layout from an article in June 1998 Model Railroader.  It is small and simple.  I am not sure if I will keep the theme of a Florida Railroad but we shall see what happens as construction progresses.
